Addressing The Recent Sycophantic From The Likes Of Femi Fani-Kayode Against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu And IPOB

Addressing The Recent Sycophantic From The Likes Of Femi Fani-Kayode Against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu And IPOB

It is quite unfortunate that the once valued and cherished relationship which Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB relished with Mr Femi Fani-Kayode(FFK) has been dozed into the trash barrel by the latter, as a result of desperate and hungry bids for material benefits. Mr Kayode, famously known for Igbophobic Euphemism, did not only stop at that, but has decided to go as far as comparing a prisoner of conscience like Nnamdi Kanu and the Indeginous people of Biafra movement he leads, to Boko Haram terrorist, all in the bidding for economic or political enrichment.

Though heartbreaking, particularly to Nnamdi Kanu whose trust circuit may have been breached by the betrayal of Mr FFK, the consequences of his treachery nonetheless, bears no irreparable damage both to Nnamdi Kanu And the Biafra Nation.

Kayode and his co-beneficiaries spotlighted the organized crime syndicates in the South East as a plausible yardstick to justify their uncanny comparison, but fails to acknowledge the glaring contributive factors that led to, and still covertly sustains them.

After the assassination attempt on the life of the IPOB leader back in 2017 failed, the Federal Government of Nigeria, under the past Buhari's administration initiated a secret mission to abduct and rendition Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria in 2021, which unfortunately this time, was successful. Note that IPOB's demands for self-determination via a referendum are legitimate and protected by both local and International laws, these demands were raised after decades of maltreatment against ethnic Biafrans within the Nigeria almagamated family, without any feasible breakthrough.

However, Nigeria government having unwittingly shot itself in the foot with the international blunder of Extraordinary rendition, exhausted the legal pretext and option to get rid of Nnamdi Kanu and therefore deployed state resources to establish crime syndicates, Trojan horses, agent provocateurs to source up evidence to salvage the government's obsessions. Thus the abrupt ostensible Insecurity spike in the South East Region. These provocateurs readily alludes their criminal activities to IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu, but the duo have consistently dissociated themselves from these state sponsored felons and have, in their own ways moved to stop them from inflicting pains and damages on innocent people living in the region. Even Nnamdi Kanu during one of his court cases in a viral video advocated for peace and calm in the entire Biafra territory. Hence it makes no logical sense to accuse them of the same crimes they have voluntarily fought off over the months, except for jingoists who sadly cannot control their hate wits.

While these crimes benefit the government, and by extension its foriegn backers, to continue illegally detaining the IPOB leader on pretentious national security grounds and also create a pandemonium infested space to discourage the possible reinvestments of economic rafts by discriminating against Biafrans in the South West and Northern regions respectively, it also tallies with some local enablers like the region's Governors, Senators, Politicial appointees, traditional rulers, etc, which sees these crime-frenzies as a delicate means to line their domestic onshore and foreign offshore pockets with security votes from the state.

Hence, to sincerely uncomplicate these problems, the Crux must be addressed and that is the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu as ordered and upheld by plethora of Nigerian Courts, tribunals and the United Nations working group on arbitrary detention. The people of the South East also understands this, reason they are unanimously demanding same against the opinion of those who thinks that unguaranteed infrastructural development promises, somehow overrides the vital importance of justice and security.

This, I believe is a move in the right direction and should be sustained. Bootlickers like FFK should be ignored by any government that has reasoning leader.
