IPOB Sierra Leone National Coordinator, Arrested
Mazi Chidi Uchendu, Sierra Leone National Coordinator of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been arrested. Family Writers Press International correspondence in Sierra Leone reports that the IPOB National Coordinator, was picked up by the country's Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and is presently in custody. His arrest took place on Monday 28th September 2021, from his business location in Freetown, which borders on Biafra restoration agitation.
Both his arrest and detention came barely two weeks after the Sierra Leonian President, Maada Bio (retired), returned from his visit to Abuja, Nigeria, where he had a closed door meeting with his Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari, in Aso Rock. The meeting was published in Punch Newspaper on Monday 13th September 2021, with its purpose deeply shrouded in secrecy.
Presently, IPOB legal team in Sierra Leone has been duly alerted and has stepped up action. Efforts are being galvanised to ensure that Mazi Chidi Uchendu's immediate and unconditional release is affected. IPOB family members anywhere in the world, are neither terrorists nor facilitators of terrorism and must not be treated with disdain.
More updates coming!
