Biafrans Routinely Killed Since The Emergence Of President Muhammadu Buhari

Biafrans Routinely Killed Since The Emergence Of President Muhammadu Buhari

The very utterance of Muhammadu Buhari on 22nd of July 2015, at the United States Institute of Peace, is the worst democratic blunder and the beginning of maligning Biafrans for worst treatment in this present regime. The then newly elected President Buhari said and I hereby quote him verbatim: "The constituents, for example, that gave 97% of the votes cannot in all honesty, be treated same on some issues with constituencies that gave me five percent 5%”.

So, since after his election and when he made this statement, his dealings towards those sections he believes to have given him the 5% votes have been dangerous, disasterous and devastating. Biafraland of course, has been the most affected. Though Fulanis have always loved to kill Biafrans, the dimension it took since the swearing in of Buhari as the Nigerian President, has really hpightened. Biafraland became a killing zone, where innocent citizens are senselessly killed on daily basis by Fulani Islamists and yet they are not questioned.

In an attempt to recall few of the many incidents where innocent citizens were massacred in cold blood, below are few instances, viz:

1. At Onitsha, on 2nd December  2015, eleven (11) people were murdered and several others injured, all by the combined teams of Fulani controlled military and Police.

2. On 9th February 2016, at CKC Aba. More than 21 members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), were killed by the Nigerian security forces and over 20 others arrested, all because they peacefully protested against the Nigerian bad leadership.

3. At least 28 IPOB members were killed and many others wounded on 14th September 2017, when the Nigerian military raided Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Father's compound in Umuahia, Abia State. Eye witnesses confirmed that in addition to those killed and wounded, at least 10 other IPOB members were shot and taken away by the soldiers. Subsequently, the government went ahead to proscribe IPOB.

4. Nkpor massacre cannot be forgotten. On-ground investigation by Amnesty International confirmed that the Nigerian army gunned down unarmed people ahead of planned Pro-Biafran commemoration events in Onitsha, Anambra state. Evidences gathered from eyewitnesses, morgues/hospitals confirmed that between May 29 -  30 2016, the Nigerian military opened fire on members of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), supporters and bystanders at three locations in Nkpor town, killing at least 150 people.

5. On 23rd November 2018, the Nigerian Department of State Security (DSS) and police also attacked IPOB members at Nnewi, killing many while many others are still missing till today.

6. On 23rd August 2020, Emene axis of Enugu State witnessed a very bloody Sunday as the Nigerian security agents comprising of the military, the police and operatives of DSS, clamped down on Biafran Jews without provocations.

It was gathered that when a dozen patrol vans loaded with security agents armed to the teeth arrived at the worship center, they turned their guns on the worshippers, who reportedly took to their heels. Eyewitnesses said that in the ensuing confrontation, gunshots and teargas fumes filled the air between St. Patrick’s Secondary School and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church along old Abakaliki Road. Hence, the premises of St. Patrick’s Secondary School flowed with the blood of fleeing Jewish worshippers.

7. Obigbo Massacre: Nyesom Wike's setting up of the Igbos for selective annihilation in Obigbo. It was the most horrible and barbaric act against Biafrans in this modern era. The number of slain defenseless Igbo citizens in Obigbo residency and environs in Rivers State, was said to be at least 60, with 90 to 100 others sustaining deadly bullet injuries. Dozens have also permanently disappeared and over 300 others abducted by the militarily and held in custodies only known to the Nigerian Army. As well, IPOB Intelligence Unit also unveiled that the Nigerian Police Force, Rivers State Command, is holding not less than 100 persons in dungeon. All the surviving victims being held alive by the Army and the Police are strongly believed to be undergoing torture, rapes and other harsh detention atrocious treatments.

8. Orlu massacre: This is the most recent, currently happening in Orlu, Imo State, were Biafrans are being killed everyday. Since the beginning of this year 2021, Orlu has been a killing field for Nigerian combined armed forces. Ikonso, a formidable commander was ambushed and strangulated to death by the Nigeria combined forces, and atrocious acts have taken a very high dimension since the supreme Court's imposition of Hope Uzodimma as Governor on Imo State people.

The All People's Congress Party (APC), Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Government as whole, have nothing they can boldly tell the world that is the sin of Biafrans, to warrant such spillage of their blood in every part of the land. Only hatred for whom the Almighty God has made Biafrans.

That is why our quest for freedom must be unwaveringly sustained because we cannot keep sharing one country with our haters.
