Covid-19 Effect: Deadly Rampage In Aba Maximum Prisons
Information reaching Family Writers Press International this Sunday morning, 17th May 2020, has it that there was heavy gunshots inside Aba Maximum Prisons, Abia State. Many inmates were reportedly maimed with varying degrees of bullet wounds and some of them, taken away to unknown locations by the Nigerian security forces.
The prisoners it was gathered, were protesting against over crowding (explosion on the number of inmates) and had requested from the prison authorities, for the adoption of social distancing measures or alternatively, be freed, to avoid being infected with the Covid-19 deadly pandemic.

This agitation however, spiraled into violence as armed security men were drafted in and in their bid to quell tension, started shooting sporadically, leaving many of the prisoners, seriously wounded.
