IPOB IGWEOCHA: OBIO/AKPOR AREA 2 ZONAL AND UNIT COORDINATORS HOSTED IN A CRUCIAL GENERAL MEETING

Aimed at keeping them abreast with developments regarding the Biafra restoration struggle within his jurisdiction, Mazi Wisdom Elochukwu Okafor, the Obio/Akpor Area 2 Coordinator, hosted all his Zonal and Unit Coordinators in a crucial General Meeting on Sunday 20th October, 2019. The meeting which was strictly by invitation, had also in attendance, members of the Executive of the Local Government.

The meeting kicked off at exactly 3:45pm with an opening prayer. A minute silence was duly observed in honor of the mother of the global leader of the  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Lolo Ugoeze Sally Okwu-Kanu, whose demise took place on Friday 30th August 2019. The news of her passing came as a surprise to the IPOB global family when it was broken via a recorded broadcast by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu on Sunday 20th October, 2019. Following this was a brief historical narrative about the Biafra restoration struggle captioned: "ANALYSIS OF OUR JOURNEY TO BIAFRA RESTORATION SINCE 1967". It was given by the Obio/Akpor Area 2 General Secretary cum Igweocha Elders Council Chairman, Deacon (Elder) Sam Izodinma. The lecture was both informative and educative.

The Area 2 Coordinator, Mazi Wisdom Elochukwu Okafor, gave detailed updates on very salient issues pertaining the struggle and seriously warned against fluttering the orders of the IPOB leadership as clearly outlined. He passionately encouraged all to remain strong, focused and dedicated to the restoration cause, assuring that Biafra is already here with us. He reiterated the need for all zonal coordinators to equip their media personnel with relevant media gadgets that will enhance their performances. The urgency attached for all the zones to have their respective twitter handles was equally stressed. Collaborating his call for a vibrant media in the local government, the Area 2 Media Head, Mazi Prince C. Iheukwumere harped on the importance of information dissemination through the internet. He encouraged all the zones through their media officers, to create online platforms including facebook pages, whatsapp accounts and most essentially, twitter handles. These he maintained are indispensable necessities in information dissemination in the Biafra restoration struggle from the area, amongst others.

Elder Njoku Ikechukwu Chukwunonyerem, the Obio/Akpor Area 2 Elders Council Chairman, called on all the zonal coordinators to as a matter of urgency, forward the names of their elders to his office. This demand he maintained, is of utmost importance and has an attached timeline.

The Area 2 Coordinator eventually brought the meeting to a close with a closing prayer. The meeting rose amidst exchange of pleasantries and light refreshment.
