IPOB: RE-ORGANISATION OF RUMUOMASI ZONE 1 LEADERSHIP IN IGWEOCHA PROVINCE

IPOB: RE-ORGANISATION OF RUMUOMASI ZONE  1 LEADERSHIP IN IGWEOCHA PROVINCE

The prevalent dysfunctional leadership of Rumuomasi zone 1, of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Igweocha Province in Biafraland, necessitated an urgent visit to the zone by a delegation of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area 2  Executives led by it's Coordinator, Mazi Wisdom Elochukwu Okafor on Wednesday 22nd May, 2019. The Rumuomasi zone 1 Family which is under the jurisdiction of Area 2, comprises of four different units with their respective leaderships according to IPOB leadership structure and under the total coordinatorship of Mazi Chukwuemeka Dike.

Detailed introduction of both the zonal/ Units leadership and members of the Area 2 executive delegates was carried out following an opening prayer said by the host zonal coordinator. He heartly welcomed all and officially handed over proceedings to Mazi Wisdom Elochukwu Okafor. The Area 2 Coordinator in his brief address, solicited for maximum cooperation of all, in proffering needed solutions to the problems hampering the progress of the zone. He sternly warned against indiscipline, promising that every official of the units represented in the meeting should freely give expression to whatever the problems were.

Identified issues included: leadership inefficiency/ineffectiveness, lack of meeting venue, non-challance and insubordination. There was a majority demand by the units executives that an appointment of a vibrant coordinator to effectively pilot the affairs of the zone be made, citing instance with the earlier request for resignation put forward by the existing coordinator, Mazi Chukwuemeka Dike during the last  monthly general executive meeting of Obio/Akpor Area 2.

Mazi Onyedikachi Bright Uba, the Oginigba zonal coordinator, calling for caution in quickly placing a demand for replacement, urged the Rumuomasi zone 1 executives, to draw wisdom from cited experiential instances of his zone that despite dauntiing challenges, remained resolutely undeterred. The zone is today waxing stronger in the struggle, having amicably and proactively sorted the issues. Collaborating his stand was the Elelenwo/MTN zonal coordinator, Mazi Otutu-Buike who called for mutual respect, trust, unity and commitment of all members in the zone. This he maintained, will be the only pancea needed to help restore the fame and resilience Rumuomasi zone 1 was known for.

Responding to the question of the Area coordinator if he was still interested in stepping down in view of all the submissions, the zonal coordinator, Mazi Chukwuemeka Dike however, reneged on his earlier decision to resign.

The Obio/Akpor Area 2 Elders Forum Chairman, Elder Njoku Ikechukwu Chukwunonyerem, thanked the zonal executives for their sincere contributions and accepted all the blames on behalf of the local government area, for the unfortunate developments. He called on Rumuomasi zone 1, to maximally cooperate with the visiting Area 2 delegates in finding lasting solutions to the issues raised.

In his wisdom, consultation and in applying the principle of internal conflict resolution mechanism as outlined by the leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) globally, ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Mazi Friday Onwuchekwa Nworlu was appointed in acting capacity, pending the final resolution of all matters in a very near future. He was  enjoined to be courageous and tenaciously work within the timeline of his stewardship, in ensuring that the zone revives, whilst guiding against acts of sabotage.

The meeting eventually adjourned with closing prayer said by the Area 2 coordinator, Mazi Wisdom Elochukwu Okafor.
