PERSISTENT ABDUCTION AND KILLING OF IPOB FAMILY MEMBERS IS AN INVITATION TO WAR
The endless forceful abduction, victimization, detention and killing of family members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) across Biafraland, have been trending in Nigeria particularly and the world generally. Since the current wave of Biafra agitation dating back to the year 2015, and it's monumental recognition and acceptability in the world political arena, the Nigerian security forces under the command of an Islamic fundamentalist President, Muhammadu Buhari, it has been a recurring decimal to ruthlessly hunt down Biafran restoration ideologists anywhere traceable. Consequently, countless number of Biafrans comprising of youths, women and men have either been subjected to despicable acts of terrorism, imprisonment or gruesome deaths orchestrated by the Nigerian State.
It is noteworthy to state here that despite the avalanche of harassment, intimidation, forceful disappearance, imprisonment and death, Biafrans have remained exceptionally peaceful and resolute in their quest for the restoration of their fatherland. This to them, remains the only hope of survival as a people. On innumerable occasions, alarms have been raised by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, calling on the international community to expedite action by intervening in the Biafra restoration question, to save lives. Unfortunately, it keeps looking the other way while the plight of Biafrans heightens. This attitude has further strengthened the hands of the agents of the Nigerian government in the gruesome massacre of the innocent.
Nevertheless, IPOB has consistently, effectively and maximally employed the instrument of civil disobedience to press home it's demand for a referendum which would have resulted in a total boycott of Nigeria planned election if the ban had not been lifted by the IPOB leadership. It is disappointing though that even in this 21st century, the Nigerian government still regards such a globally recognised and civilized approach as criminal. Even after the lifting of the election boycott order by the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, due to approval of demands by the Nigerian government, incessant forceful abduction, detention, harassment and killing of IPOB family members ruthlessly persist, which are aimed at provoking Biafrans to pick up arms.
There is this popular saying that: "sheep is not a good dancer but not when the drummer comes to play at it's doorpost". It is therefore imperative that the organised international community, human rights bodies and people of good conscience, immediately synergize and prevail on the Nigerian government to desist forthwith, in all shapes or forms, from further clampdown and killing of IPOB family members. The earlier this despicable acts are stemmed, the better for all. It should be noted that "war is an evil wind that blows no one any good".
A word is enough for the wise!
