ELECTION BOYCOTT AND THE MEANING OF GENUINE POLITICS
Figuratively speaking, politics in it's genuineness, means using what you have and the power at your disposal, to diligently render service to the masses while the masses in return, having tested and trusted the actor, duly reciprocate by giving such, maximum and passionate support. This is bereft of any external influence and monetary inducement. Stressing it further, it is the politicians that render services to the masses and not the other way round.
The condition of every society is really determined by the methodology with which the leaders therein are chosen by the people. In perfect democratic setting, the people freely choose their leaders while in autocratic system, the leaders impose their choices on the people subject to the mercy of the elites. Nigeria is a country that claims to be practicing democracy but such empty bragging perfectly illustrates self-deceit just like deliberately running an advert of a rotten product.
The only reason why many Nigerians are presently drumming up support for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential flagbearer of People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming general elections fixed for Saturday 16th February 2019, revolves round the fact that he stands currently as the best product in the country. This is because it has been stamped in their defeatist subconsciousness that it is only him that can strongly fight a chance against the cabals who are impersonating late President Muhammadu Buhari. What an absurdity and a psychological quagmire! This is where one draws the conclusion that Nigerians completely lack the right to choose their leaders but rather, that all past leaders were either imposed on the citizens via military coup de'tat or covertly selected in shambolic but institionalized electoral processes which thrive on the altar of elitism. This is the reason why a notorious bigot like late Muhammadu Buhari was able to rule Nigerians both as a military despot in 1984 and thirty years after, repackaged and resold to the people as a civilian Head of State. This is just to cushion the desperate selfishness of some people that were bent on getting rid of a fine but infallible democratic leader, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan.
In what appears to be a repeated history, the same scenario is unavoidably playing out itself today. Just because Nigerians are in desperation of survival against "Buhari", they have resorted to mounting the trojan horse of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar without definitively asking for the direction the same horse that almost successfully and single-handedly conveyed Buhari to Aso Rock in 2015, is presently headed. Nobody seems to be interested in asking about Atiku's manifesto neither is any of the ethnic nationalities in what Buhari's former colleague and suddenly transformed antagonist is bringing forth to solve the very constitutional and structural incohorence that is strongly suffocating the country. Nigerians totally seem unperturbed that this may yet play out to be another ponzi scheme that will finally bury the country already killed by an evil system and manipulated at will by Buhari.
It is only the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) that is uncompromisingly doing something reasonable and justifiable in that respect, proving so incomprehensibly difficult to political puppets. We should all come to terms with the truth that IPOB did not just emanate from the blues, with election boycott campaign. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader has effortlessly, opened widely, the door of the organization to virtually all the Nigerian political parties to come in, inasmuch as their coming in is premised on referendum date or at least a constitutional reform written, supervised and approved by all Nigerian citizens, with embedded referendum clause.
Whoever therefore, that says that the demand brought forward by IPOB before it's adherents can participate in any Nigerian organized election is unrealistic, is actually suffering from colossal mental deficiency and high profile ignorance, whether knowingly or unknowingly. It takes extraordinary level of sophisticated reasoning to understand the ethics of modern day self-determination which the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is inventfully bringing into the continent of Africa if not the entire global community. IPOB fully understands perfectly that the power of the people does not rest on the kangaroo Abdusallami Abubakar's tailored 1999 constitution that has completely destroyed Nigeria, but rather that which resides in the votes of average Nigerian electorates. These are being manipulated by the political gladiators to legalize their embezzlement enterprise and atrocities through fraudulent elections.
Since Nigerians are too cowardly to orchestrate violent revolution, why then can't they starve the demons that hold the country down by totally withholding their votes in order to usher in a brand new country bereft of colonialism, subjugation and oppression of the common man?
