OHANEZE NDIGBO PROSCRIPTION VERSUS THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA (IPOB)
The courageous and commendable proscription of a treacherous organization known and addressed as Ohaneze Ndigbo by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, under the supreme command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, fits into the popular axiom which states that "what comes around, goes around". It is a development specially welcomed, when IPOB, a globally acclaimed most peaceful and well enlightened indigenous mass movement uncompromisingly fighting for the freedom of her people, had before now, severally created avenues for harmonious resolution of all thorny issues for peaceful co-existence between the two which were blatantly rebuffed.
The question has been, why must IPOB take such a decision of proscribing Ohaneze Ndigbo socio-cultural group who are supposedly by right, the elders/leaders of the land. Proponents of such school of thought posit that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) with an entirely different agenda, lacks the legitimacy of proscribing an organization they never created at the first instance. But the truth remains that those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. If IPOB's proscription of this group is being seen as an unjust action, why then must the purported and ill-conceived proscription of IPOB orchestrated by Ohaneze Ndigbo and it's fellow accomplices within Biafraland, stand?
Needless delving into irrelevant debates on issues bordering on this proscribed group and the IPOB but suffice it to say that maintaining objective neutrality and factoring in superior arguments remain the best position. Anyone standing in opposition to IPOB's action is not just hallucinating but is psychopathically deficient. What really is this Ohaneze Ndigbo all about? Who elected it's members into whatever offices? What specifically, are the evidential benefits which the indigenous owners of the land have enjoyed from these men?
Ohaneze Ndigbo is just merely a socio-cultural organisation, created principally to promote Igbo culture and to an extent, traditional concerns in the Nigerian federation. On these, was it's formation premised. It has no bearing whatsoever with politics nor does it serve as a political voice in the defense of the wishes of the people. If really it did served as a voice for the overriding interests of the people, that has for long being repudiated. Though Igbo Biafrans endured their excesses over times by allowing them get involved in virtually all political issues of concern as a people, all these past years due to a retention of some measure of integrity within it's rank and file.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide remains uniquely identifiable with superseding/rare qualities of an indigenous organization in the entire Biafra territories with millions of resilient and courageous membership spread across the globe. Her emergence on the scene consists of irrefutable political cum liberal mandates of the indigenous people of the old Eastern region of the British enterprise called Nigeria. The plights of Biafrans are legally accorded recognition by various governments of the world which include United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), African Union (AU), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), United States of America (USA), amongst many others.
The uninformed, misinformed and the gullible may want to argue these realities but the truth remains that Ohaneze Ndigbo socio-cultural group and membership are all indisputably by normal standard, under the umbrella body of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) except for their treacherous stance. The subversive intrigues of Ohaneze Ndigbo have become in recent times, the subject of the enlightened. There is no gainsaying the fact that the events which saw the total collapse of business activities within the Southern part of Nigeria recently, are justifiably testimonial.
It is of note to point out here that IPOB has the inalienable right to proscribe any organization that stands opposed overtly or covertly, to the collective aspirations of the people. As commonly and truly stated, "power only belongs to the people and not to the rulers". Conclusively, let us point out the main issues standing between OHANEZE NDIGBO led by John Nnia Nwodo and the INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA ably led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
There can never be any solution to whatever problem that exists unless there is sincerity of purpose and willingness to confront it head-on. The Nigerian military expedition tagged Operation Python Dance II that was carried out on the 14th of September 2017, was an undeserved gruesome genocide against innocent Biafrans which was orchestrated by Ohaneze Ndigbo led by John (Judas) Nnia Nwodo, Abuja-based political merchants of Biafra extraction, Southeast governors, self-serving religious/traditional leaders, in concert with the Nigerian government. Many promising Biafrans were killed in that evil exercise.
This crop of saboteurs must be held accountable for all that transpired before, during and after that spate of mayhem. It was on that same "dark day" that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the Crowned Prince of Afara-Ukwu Ibeku ancient kingdom in Umuahia, Abia State, alongside his aged parents, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Eze Israel Okwu-Kanu and his wife, Ugoeze Sally Okwu-Kanu, were abducted by the Nigerian army officers. Eversince then, one full year after, they have remained incommunicado in a secretive custody. Their residence was murderously invaded in a commando-styled onslaught, with over twenty eight innocent, unarmed Biafran civilians gruesomely murdered.
Up till date, the so-called Ohaneze Ndigbo group with it's fellow Hausa-Fulani bootlickers in Biafraland, which claimed to be the authentic representatives of the people, have not deemed it fit to make any official statement regarding that despicable show of vampirism against their people by the Nigerian State. But rather, they shamelessly collaborated with the presidency to proscribe the activities of the IPOB and tagging her members, terrorists. No crime nor death of any sort has been reportedly perpetrated so far by the organization, despite the many acts of provocations carried out against her by the Nigerian Security Forces.
