ATTACK ON BIAFRAN WOMEN; A CALL FOR THE INTERVENTION OF THE WORLD LEADERS AND PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL

ATTACK ON BIAFRAN WOMEN; A CALL FOR THE INTERVENTION OF THE WORLD LEADERS AND PEOPLE OF GOOD WILL

It is on record, and the world also will bear us witness that the Nigerian government and with her security apparatus have always been caught in the web of degrading and an appalling human rights violation. When the evidences of those inhuman treatment melted on people explodes to the public domain, they begin to take some precautionary measures in a bid to launder their already stinking images, but there is a saying that, "the leopard can not change it's skin." Consequently, Nigeria have continued in the same manner and have even gone worse.

The case of the Indigenous people of Biafra, (IPOB) and the Nigerian government is a case worthy of critical analysis. It's on record that since the very day Biafra agitation which have been recognized as the most peaceful global mass movement in the world gathered momentum into the mainstream discussion, there has been an aggressive repression and intimidation on the part of the Nigerian government to forcefully silence the voice of the indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB). On uncountable occasions, the Nigeria military combined forces have consistently unleashed terror on peaceful demonstrators which have led to the deaths and sudden disappearance of many IPOB members, rig-out court cases and imprisonment.

OPERATION PYTHON DANCE II remains a hole in the heart of Biafrans, 14th September, 2017, cannot be forgotten in a hurry, a day when Nigeria government and her military, led by President Mohamadu Buhari (the commander in Chief of Nigeria Arm Forces) and Gen. Tukur Buratai in collaboration with Southeast Governors and Ohanaeze Ndigbo rolled out armoured tanks against unarmed civilians and invaded the home of IPOB leader Mazi Nnandi Kanu and killed everything that hath life, took away the leader of IPOB Mazi Nnandi Kanu and his parents. Since then their whereabouts remained unknown.

However, more than 10 months on, nobody seems to care about the whereabouts of the IPOB leader amidst growing tension in the country. On 17th of August, 2018, the brave mothers of Biafra (IPOB WOMEN) who went on a peaceful rally in Owerri demanding for the whereabouts of the IPOB leader Mazi Nnandi Kanu and parents. And all Nigerian Government could do was to arrest Biafra women (both pregnant women, aged and sick) were detained. The sanctity of womanhood was not respected and thereby defiled. It is very sad and indeed barbaric. Consequently, pictures have emerged on how they were being dumped in a dungeon in the name of police cell.

The world and wowen of good conscience around the world must therefore rise up and  immediately demand for the release of these innocent women who have committed no crime but to ask for whereabouts of their son and leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents. And the perpetrators of these heinous crime must be brought to justice.
