IPOB: OBIGBO LGA (IGWEOCHA) HELD ANOTHER GENERAL MEETING

IPOB: OBIGBO LGA (IGWEOCHA) HELD ANOTHER GENERAL MEETING

Ogochukwu Nnanna Reporting for Family Writers Press

The Women wing of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Obigbo local government area (Igweocha) Biafraland, held it's general meeting on Thursday, the 31st day of May 2018. The women turned up in their numbers in their elegant attires (uniforms). The meeting was declared open with series of melodious but Biafra patriotic songs.

For effectiveness and result-oriented leadership within it's fold, the women unanimously effected some changes which saw some officials loosing their positions.

However, some of the women members gave their narratives of the events of the ill-conceived and ill-fated Summit in Awka, Anambra state, which was organized and hosted by the Ohaneze Ndigbo Group. They stated how Nnia Nwodo was roundly interrupted and disgraced by the IPOB women as he lied that Igbo Biafrans have all accepted the Nigeria Restructuring Mantra like other regions in the country. The women  emphasized how all the IPOB women who converged massively at Alex Ekwueme Square, the Summit venue, unanimously echoed in one voice, their unambiguous demand for total freedom and restoration of Biafra rather than Nigeria restructuring. They  stated that there exists absolutely no tangible benefit derived from the shameful Summit as the IPOB women strategically truncated the event with their deafening shouts of rejection.

The  IPOB women of the Obigbo local government area pointedly warned that they were getting impatient and agitated about the kidnapped leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. They called on the Nigerian government to act now and release their leader before it becomes belated.

There was Biafra evangelistic outreach program carried out immediately after the meeting within and without the neighborhood by the women, to appropriately sensitize the women on the need to get enlisted in the struggle. Their stand and desire for Biafra referendum were equally laid bare before the viewing public.

The women reiterated their demand for the unconditional release of their courageous and indefatigable leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in military custody since his house invasion/his kidnap on the 14th of September 2017. They demanded also that all the Biafran freedom fighters in secret detention cells across Nigeria be realized. The women made it abundantly clear that what they stand for is the freedom of all Biafrans/ unfettered restoration of Biafra, their fatherland and not restructuring of Nigeria under whatever guise.
