It is exceptionally callous and a shameful rape on professional ethics for the Nigerian Judiciary to be shielding the Nigerian Army from releasing the abducted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in secretive custody since the 14th of September 2017, when his residence was murderously invaded. The Biafran youths all the the world have pointedly issued out a warning to the Nigerian Army to release forthwith, their supreme leader or they will be forced to adopting any extra-judicial action at their disposal, in ensuring that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is rescued from military captivity. It could be recalled that on the 10th of September 2017, the Hausa-Fulani cum Boko Haram infested Nigerian army made a foiled assassination attempt on the life of the IPOB leader in his residence at Afara-ukwu - Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, as the resilient Biafran youths barricaded their leader's residential entrance, thereby forcing the soldiers to retreat. On the 11th day of September 2017, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu proactively conducted a press conference, putting the whole world on notice on the siege of the Nigerian army in his residence. He led a team of news men round his compound and showed them quite a number of holes inserted in one of the water tanks in the compound, resulting from barrage of gun shots from the Nigerian army. One of the armless young Biafrans was also wounded in the process.
On that same fateful day of the press conference, the Nigerian Airforce and Army heavily concentrated their surveillance around Afara-ukwu - Ibeku, Umuahia in Abia State, the home town of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, as if in a war zone. On the 14th of September 2014, the vampiric onslaught of the Nigerian state was let loose as it's army gruesomely invaded Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's residence in a commando style with accompanying armored tanks and other military hardwares. Twenty eight (28) Biafrans including a palace cook and a pet dog were instantly killed within the compound in that murderous operation. Some fortunate victims that escaped comprehensively narrated their ordeal. One had it that while the encounter lasted, he heard the rampaging soldiers shouting: "we have captured him, "move", "move", "enter the vehicle". But what could not be fully ascertained is whether the captive was exactly Mazi Nnamdi Kanu or not as everyone was scampering for the safety of his/her life. However, it should be noted that eversince then, the IPOB leader has neither been seen nor his whereabouts known. No sane being will be told, based on this account, that the murderous army of Nigeria can claim innocence of Kanu's abduction or even death after that display of crude, criminal and calculated military invasion of the residence of an armless freedom fighter, who was yet on bail. The Nigerian Judiciary has shamelessly thrown it's professional integrity to the winds by shielding the army from releasing or arraigning Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the court of law as demanded, for the world to be told the offence committed while on bail, if any.
As time speedily ticks away, the Biafran youths are increasingly tending towards restiveness as their patience wanes. They have unmistakably placed a warning to the Nigerian army to immediately release their leader from captivity or have him forcefully released by all means available. The army should know therefore that the intelligence officers of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), are all over the global community, with the Nigeria Defence Headquarters and even the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock, Abuja, inclusive. The Nigeria government should therefore be prepared to risk avoidable casualties if it ignores this timely warning for the immediate release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from army detention. The teaming and near - restive Biafran youths in their millions could alternatively take laws into their hands to drive home their demand and anybody could be a victim. Let it be made known to the world that it is not in the interest of the Biafran youths to hit any Nigerian barrack in the drive for the rescue of their invaluable leader. But if the authorities concerned treat this warning with levity, the unexpected should then be expected in the nearest possible time. You do not take the patience of a people for granted. The Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Tukur Buratai and Justice Binta Nyako of an Abuja-based Federal High Court should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order or even deaths/destruction. The peaceful disposition of the Biafran youths should not be mistaken for cowardice.
A word is enough for the wise!
