IPOB: LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS AND REIGN OF TERROR: ENOUGH REASONS FOR NIGERIA DISINTEGRATION

LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENTS AND REIGN OF TERROR:  ENOUGH REASONS FOR NIGERIA DISINTEGRATION

In a country where there exists, institutionalised state sponsored oppression, illegal incarcerations, killings, massive unemployment, dearth of electricity, leadership failure, tribal/religious chauvinism, undue favoritism and rising spate of terrorism, the expectation for corporate existence is nothing but a mirage. And in such a suppressed environment, there can never be derivable benefits accruable to such societies. There is a wastage of efforts of the people that had intentionally pulled their resources together for the singular purpose of their welfare and well-being. Any successful adventure in such an environment is usually not being cherished.

Nigeria supposedly happens to be one of the countries that is naturally endowed with abundant human and natural resources which if fully and conscientiously harnessed, could be of immense benefit to her citizenry. Fundamentally and unfortunately too, the objectives behind the amalgamation of the component regions that made up Nigeria, were for immoral and undue favoritism, consistently being accorded a particular section of the country known for its industrial and productive laziness at the expense of others. The primary and secondary needs of the different people groups that constitute that country are very brazenly denied them even though the bulk of the resources and proceeds in which the unity of the country hinges, come from their regions. This oppressive antecedents breed crimes and criminality, violence, youth restiveness in different shapes, human trafficking, et cetera.

Nigeria is a country that has large expanse of territories which accommodates about 250 divergent tribes with   different languages/dialects. Many though, would have expected that armed with these uniqueness of natural blessings, Nigeria would have grown to astonishing and unimaginable heights of progress in all human endeavors. But reverse is rather the case as nepotism, favoritism, religious bigotry, corruption, oppression, terrorism and satanically inspired federal character syndrome have risen to high heavens. There exists colossal illegal emigration of citizens to different nations of the world to seeking greener and conducive pastures for survival.

According to one of the teachings of philosophy, "the only thing that is constant is change" and unfortunately, real change is a sworn enemy of Nigeria. "It is a leprous matter that must be avoided". Nigeria is an unfortunate experiment where the right of governance is an exclusive reserve of a particular section (tribe) which must not be compromised. And this section controlled by the Hausa-Fulanis has predominantly ruled the country for 37 years out of the 57 years of her Independence from colonial administration, with virtually no tangible benefits to show for it. It has been a retinue of woes and retrogression ranging from gross infrastructural decays and insufficiencies, economic failures, occultism, sprawling youth unemployment, illegal arrests, extra-judicial killings, deception, despotism, corruption, terrorism, growing religious/ethnic tensions, political cabalism, hooliganism and enslavement. Keeping Nigeria together under forced unity is a misnomer and gravely, a disservice to humanity.

There is absolutely nothing on earth that is permanent except authentic and definitive CHANGE. One of the popular French philosophers in his opinion, opined that "division is to strengthen unification". And that properly put, suggests that division encourages hardworking and healthy competition, thereby hastening appreciable developments amongst entities. If one therefore is hardworking, why then the evil concept of masterminding killing of fellow human beings to keep a country whose various ethnic Indigenous people groups never gave their consent to amalgamation policies that were trickishly  foisted on them?

It is dishearteningly shameful to state here that Nigeria records the highest in citizens betrayal in contemporary democracies the world over, as her politicians who swore to oaths to foremostly fight and protect the interests of the people, enjoy the gains of governance through crass frivolities. This runs contrary to what obtains in some other African countries like South Africa, Angola, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast etc. Nigeria blatantly runs foul of the provisions of her own constitution through the tyrannical and selfish interests of her rulers. The citizens of the country are daily being gruesomely murdered by the vampiric activities of Nigerian Security Forces, Boko Haram terrorists, Fulani Herdsmen, armed robbers, kidnappers, ritual killers, judicial unethical practices and others.

It is evidently clear that the continued existence of Nigeria in the light of the foregoing is a timely bomb awaiting disastrous explosion. The time to correct this anomaly is now.
