BIAFRA: THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA, EBONYI STATE CHAPTER INAUGURATED A FAMILY UNIT IN OKPOTO, EBONYI STATE

Report by Ogeh Friday .I
For Family Writers Press

The Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Ebonyi state chapter on Thursday 11th January 2018, officially inaugurated the long and awaited family unit in Okpoto at Ishielu L.G.A Ebonyi state, Biafra land.

The inauguration was one of it's kind in the state as the IPOB state coordinator Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya and all the members of the state executive graced the occasion with their presence. Also in attendance were some Biafrans from other states within and outside Biafra land who are also in the struggle for Biafra restoration under the umbrella of IPOB.

The inauguration started with prayers said by the IPOB state PRO Bishop Nwachinemerem Stanley, as he prayed for the members of IPOB worldwide as well as the  supreme leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, that
Chukwu Okike Abiama should continue to guide and protect them  wherever they are despite the evil plots of the enemies of Biafra against them.

The state coordinator, Mazi Igwe Ogbonnaya during his address to IPOB members who gathered for the official inauguration, stated that the struggle for the restoration of Biafra will soon come to a successful end because the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), under the supreme command of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has proved to the entire humanity that Biafra is due to exit the contraption called Nigeria through their various programs and activities across the globe. Continuing, he equally urged them to stand strong as to face whatever that may come in this restoration effort. He also noted that it will be unwise for anyone to fold his hands and go to sleep knowing that the enemies are awake or perhaps retreat while what is after him or her has not stopped.

Bishop Nwachinemerem Stanley while addressing the people advised them to be more vigilant and be mindful of whom they discuss activities of IPOB with, especially those who are not under  oath as members. One of the mobilization officer, Mazi Egu Kelechi who is a dedicated member of IPOB in Igweocha but hails from Okpoto, who also assisted in making sure that Biafrans from that part of Biafraland comes together under the umbrella of IPOB,  urged them to do whatever they can, to keep the fire burning in their jurisdiction and beyond, and try to give the total support needed and obey the command of the supreme leader of IPOB. He encouraged them as well to try to make their financial contributions timely as it costs to run the struggle and that it is the members of IPOB that will sponsor all their activities and not the politicians, that is why it is important for all and sundry to make sure they contributes financially to the success of the struggle, making sure that they pay their monthly dues both for national and state as at when due.

However, Mazi Ezeta Ozoemena the state welfare officer mounted the stage and explained in details why the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Nnamdi Kanu is very much committed in making sure that Biafra is being restored. He remarked that the Nigerian government indirectly and directly subjected  ordinary Biafrans into abject penury, suffering, marginalization of the region and segregation of the highest order politically, despite the fact that what Nigeria use in running the affairs of the country come from the Biafran territory. He also pointed out that the cause of high level of unemployment and hardship in the region is because the Hausa Fulani and Yoruba(s) who are running the country, forced all the companies within the entire Biafran territory to close down, both the private owned  and public ones with government policies made to keep Biafrans out of business and favour their people. He mentioned companies such as PRODA, IBETO CEMENT, Nkalagu cement factory and others which Nigeria closed down it's productions as he was trying to elucidate further for better understanding, also said that, while Dangote group of company operates without any government interference, instead they give him financial support in form of loan for higher productivity, the worst of it is that those whom the people anticipated their aid and   advocacy joined their oppressors to make things worse for them and as a result of this, the people have no choice than to fight for their right and liberation.

Meanwhile, Ogeh Friday Igiri a Family Writers Press correspondent, urged them to embrace the media and contribute in the media war because there are lots of battle going on in the media, especially in the electronic media on daily bases. He equally explained the benefits of the media in the struggle because media is the best platform the people can use to register their plight and disseminate the pogrom and the atrocities meted on them by the government for the whole world to see.

Thereafter, the state coordinator having clarified all the issues bothering some persons as it regards some of the questions raised, performed the inauguration proper and the unit executives were called out and the mantle of leadership handed to them, while Mazi Unachi Ifeanyi who is the coordinator of the newly inaugurated unit, on behalf of the executive and the unit members appreciated the state executives for making out time to grace the inaugural occasion despite heavy schedules. He also expressed his profound gratitude over the inauguration and recognition of the unit under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB. He pledged to work assiduously with his colleagues to make sure that the light handed to them remained on, even as he assured the opening of more IPOB units within the jurisdiction in no distant time as to meet up with the requirements that will make up a zone.

The occasion was brought to a successful end with a prayer said by Egu Kelechi who committed everyone into the able hands of Chukwu Okike Abiama and prayed for the grace to remain strong and focused till Biafra is finally restored. He equally prayed for journey mercies to those who came from far and near for the inauguration as well as the wellbeing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu the leader of IPOB wherever he is.
