BIAFRA: A NATION RUBBED OF HER EXISTENCE, MUST FIGHT TO THE FINISH TO RESTORE HER LOST INHERITANCE

BIAFRA: A NATION RUBBED OF HER EXISTENCE, MUST FIGHT TO THE FINISH TO RESTORE HER LOST INHERITANCE

For some time now, the Biafra question has sparked off a lot of controversies in what is today called Nigeria and the world. The Biafra of 1967-70 led to the exposition of the ingenuity of a people inhabiting the geographical space called Biafra. If not for the inventions of 1966-67, who would have known that close to the Atlantic ocean lies a people that within a space of time started refining their own fuel that kept both military and civilian cars moving all through the war period. People that built an airport that became the most applied and busiest in the time of war. A people that gathered it's local engineers and in a short period of time, produced armoured vehicles and bombs. The dreaded "Ogbunigwe" (bomb) was produced by these local  engineers but with international standard.

For young people devoid of history, I am glad to bring to your subconsciousness, that it was "Ogbunigwe" bombs that was used to deal mercilessly with the invading Nigerian military. Biafran soldiers even without boots and military camouflage fought hard and decimated the Nigerian soldiers. But thanks  to the almighty "Ogbunigwe". The bombs used by the Biafran soldiers were called " Ogbunigwe" because of how it works. The name Ogbunigwe is an indigenous Igbo language which literally means "killing in bulk or greater quantity".

It is on record that Nigeria lost more soldiers during Biafra/Nigeria war than Biafra. Biafrans flew their own planes in a period you hardly see a black pilot. Chinua Achebe in his book "There Was A Country" narrated how they landed in oversea country to the astonishment of their host country and  the pilot was a Biafran. The foreigners were waiting for a white man pilot to come out from the Airplane, and when no one came out, they thought the presumed white man pilot has been held hostage, but they were surprised that it was a Biafran that piloted the plane all the way from a war torn Biafra to Europe. Read Achebe's work and get the feeling.

However, today the Biafra question has sparked a new round of revolution. A revolution against a system that has hindered a people so much blessed by God from developing and standing tall to restore a nation that found greatness in just three years amidst shelling and bombardment from machineries from Britain, Russia and Egypt during the war.

Be that as it may, 50 years after the war, Biafrans remain unfettered in restoring their nation. The leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, just like Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu has been that leader divinely ordained to lead Biafrans to that promise land. A land that lies in wait for them.

This journey to freedom has not been easy. Many have lost their freedom because they are in jail without trial or bail. The Nigerian government has refused Biafrans held in different Nigerian prisons bail and that is in a period, the suspected members of Boko Haram terrorists held in Kano prison and prisons in different parts of Northern Nigeria are being released in droves. Many more Biafrans have been killed in different parts of Biafraland by the murderous Nigerian military. The latest was the festival of death gifted to the Biafran youths as ordered by the Nigerian President, Mohammad Buhari during the military invasion of the South-east otherwise known as hinterland of Biafra, with their genocidal operation codenamed "Operation Python Dance II". Recall that the Nigeria military from 10th of September to 14th of September laid siege on the house of the leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Nigerian military on that faithful day 14th September, committed the most atrocious crime ever known to humanity. They opened fire in a civilian residence, shooting to death young youths that were not posing any threat, disrupting or breaching the peace of the people in the vicinity. The invasion recorded many deaths, the kidnapping and suspected killing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because since that incident happened no one has ever seen or heard from him. Till today, his strange disappearance and whereabouts remained a mirage and unknown. Even his parents were no where to be found or have been sighted anywhere. It was not just the raiding of a civilian residence, but the palace of a royal king, the custodian of cultural heritage of Afara ukwu Ibeku in Igbo land, hence, desecrating the royal palace in Igbo land with impunity. Imagine shooting inside a Royal house for hours, I watched the video and all thanks to the brave and fearless Biafran who risked it all in exposing the Nigerian military in that ill-conceived operation. The mother of all crimes was to cart away the lifeless bodies of those they shot and killed so as to cover every evidence that might be gathered and used against them in the future. Unfortunately, the Nigerian army denied the invasion even as there were pictorial and video evidences to that atrocity, there was a Facebook live coverage of the incident on that day, it flooded the internet. It is verifiable, just goggle it and see things for yourself.

Honestly brethren, have you seen or heard that the Nigerian security forces invaded, killed, opened fire or even disrespect any Emir or Sultan in Northern Nigeria? The case of Ese Oruru is still fresh in our memories. The police were helpless in the hands of the Emir. They could not go into an Emir's house to arrest the rapist and pedophile who kidnapped a minor from Bayelsa and impregnated her. But the same barbarians were quick to invade a Royal house in Igbo land, killing everything living inside, to the extent of killing a harmless pet dog. Now you will understand why the Fulani terrorists who masquerade as cattle rearers kill with impunity without being challenged by the military. They can even wipe an entire community, killing,  rapping and keeping in hostage as many people as they can get, while other members of that community flee their land to become refugees or destitutes in another man's land, yet, the Nigerian government in collaboration with her genocidal military shield the killers and make the victims the aggressors. You can also now decifer why the North claim ownership of the fraudulent entity called Nigeria and has objected it's restructuring or outright balkanization or disintegration.

The earlier all of us understand that we are all in slavery in Nigeria and work together toward our collective freedom and emancipation the better we will all live in Biafraland when she is restored. They have invaded a Royal House in the coastal part of Biafra, same way they invaded a Royal house in Afaraukwu Ibeku.

We have to stand up for ourselves and walk to our freedom. We have to take the bull by the horn and fight harder for our continued existence. We have to stop fighting ourselves and engage our collective slave masters and fight to the finish. The freedom of the nation of Biafra lies in our hands and together in unison, our freedom is assured. The Nigerian military should provide Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his parents and as well set a date for Biafra referendum or there will never be peace in Nigeria.
