IPOB: Kanu rejects Southeast govs’ plea, insists on Biafra

Kanu rejects Southeast govs’ plea, insists on Biafra

IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and Southeast Governors

The leadership of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) headed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu yesterday rejected the plea of the governors of the Southeast zone of Nigeria during a meeting between the pro-Biafra group and the politicians. We were reliably informed by an insider that after long hours of the closed door meeting at the Enugu Government House, the governors were unable to convince Kanu to drop his agitation for Biafra.

Also, the meeting failed to stop his threat against the November 18 governorship election in Anambra state, our reporter gathered. The governors were said to have invited Kanu to discuss issues concerning the alleged violation of his bail conditions for which the Federal Government had asked an Abuja High court to issue an order to re-arrest him

''They called him and pleaded he talks to his supporters to relapse on IPOB pursuit; he brought out his phone and showed them a picture of the crowd in one of the IPOB rallies saying:

"These are the people that sent me. I didn't send myself. If you leaders genuinely love this land and her people, you will not call these people my supporters but our supporters. They are pursuing the most sacred cause in life. That is freedom!
You don't kill people who are begging for breathe and life. It is sacrilegious but you have done such.
Biafrans want freedom which is life"..

Another issue of concern to the governors was the Biafra Security Service (BSS), which Kanu reportedly inaugurated at Umuahia, Abia state, an act the police described as unlawful.

During the meeting which was attended by constitutional lawyer, Prof Ben Nwabueze and Deputy Secretary General, Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT), Evangelist Elliot Uko, Kanu was said to have remained adamant on restoration of Biafra.
“They begged him to drop Biafra agitation but he shook his head. That’s why they decided to have further discussions with him and his group,” the insider said.

But Ebonyi State Governor and Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, Dave Umahi had assured that the governors would continue to have further dialogue with the leadership of IPOB.

At the meeting were Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Dr Nkem Okeke. Governors Rochas Okorocha (Imo) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) were said to be out of the country.

  2. I am shocked to see these Igbo governors begging to sell out their birth right. Ones corruption has eaten up the mind, delusion sets in, then one looses his sense of reality. These governors should be declared-The enemies within and Biafra should have nothing to do with them anymore.

  3. Kanu shouldn't have honored that invitation. They are bunch of fools who are delusional in their head. These people are distractions. Keep your eyes on the prize. No deal. No surrender. Forward marching. All hands on deck. If you can't fly then run. If can't run then walk. If you can't walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward...MLK,jr

  4. It’s insane that Igbo governors want Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB to drop agitation for Biafra. These governors are not only selfish but vicious. In fact the current crop of Igbo governors are slaves of the Hausa-Fulani and cowards to the religious hypocrisy of Sokoto Caliphate. Since 1999, Igbo nation has not produced any governor in the likes of Chief Sam Mbakwe and his likes. These Igbo political prostitutes are really our problem. If we do away with them, we will be freed from the Hausa-Fulani oppression, bondage, marginalization and islamization of our region.

Biafrans want freedom which is life". Some of us are born with enough sense to think while some are born without it. Such statements of VERY HIGH QUALITY as this come out effortlessly from the wise whilst fools grope for long to find what to say. This short statement shows the difference between a human being formed by the Almighty God on a good day and those who were formed whilst their god and creator was in a rush to go home after a hard days work. See how many people gathered to dissuade a young man from pursuing the aspirations of his people and see what simple statement he uses to tell them who they are - complete fools, brainless and uneducated people. Indeed, as I have always said, everyone of us has gone to school, but not all of us are educated. Some have big grades and qualifications but are not educated. I will say this here once again, education is not just a collection of information but the development of the inner capacity of man to extract truth from reality and that which is available, and then go on to create life and a new set of phenomena that govern and determine its quality. Those who "have gone to school" acquire information and speak like parrots, repeating what they have heard, but those who are educated, rather receive revelation out of what they have learnt, and then go on to create life. The statement from Kanu is a creation born out of a quality mind and proper thinking. That is why it has made nonsense of the old fools.
