By Maxwell Chuks
For Family Writers
Greeting and welcome once again to another wonderful edition of TRENDING SPOTLIGHT OF THE WEEK from Family Writers Press.
- The first update of Spotlight is of Borno state in Nigeria, where multiple suicide attacks by Boko Haram suicide bombers took the lives of 7 people and injured many others.
- Still on the issue of terrorism, during the week, Pakistan government hanged 4 hardcore terrorists.
The question now is- Despite the fact that many terrorists are arrested in Nigeria, how many have been prosecuted and punished to the view of the public?
Absolutely Non.
- Gradually Spotlight view moved over to Biafra land where Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), raised alarm over the abduction of it's African Rep.
This alarm was raised shortly, after report came in that IPOB African Rep, George Onyibe have been abducted by men known to be the Nigeria DSS.
- "Separate girls from boys in schools" -Emir of Bauchi cried out as he raises alarm over immoral acts in schools.
While others were saying it's a nice suggestion, others were asking- "Will this bring immoral acts to an end?
Will it put an end to child marriage in the Northern part of Nigeria?
Let's wait and see.
- " Cabals have hijack Buhari's government" -Northern group, lament as they cry over the unknown true state of Buhari's health condition.
Ghen! Ghenn!!
- During the week; the battle between EFCC and former president Goodluck Jonathan's family continued as FG of Nigeria amended charges against Jonathan's wife and Cousin over alleged $40m contract scam.
- We now move over to Turkey where EU lawmakers call for halt to Turkey's long-stalled EU membership talks.
- "No cause for alarm over president Buhari's health" -APC tells Nigerians.
Hmmm....
- Shiites!
Guess what they did.........
During the week, Shiites protesters shut down NASS over El-Zakzaky's continued detention.
The question still remains- Since other measures couldn't work out, will this make the Nigeria government to obey court order and release him?
- "Release our members to avoid problem" -IPOB Abia-North tells Nigeria army.
This came after the Nigeria military arrested two IPOB members.
IPOB Abia-North, further warned Nigeria security agencies to stop arresting and harassing IPOB members.
- Governor Rochas Okorocha dropped another bomb again..
This time, he said- "Imo state was associated with deities before I became governor"
Ohuohh!
The matter didn't just end there; the wonderful people of Imo gave him heavy verbal blows and ask him some questions which is yet to be answered.
- "Where is Buhari?"
That was the question throughout the week as President Muhammad Buhari was nowhere to be found twice in FEC meeting.
Buhari's absent from Friday Jumat prayer, triggered same question again.
Hmmm.., still watching Nigeria.
- Spotlight of the week payed a visit to Delta state where the blood of Deltans are still flowing on their soil as Fulani herdsmen keeps attacking villages, maiming and murdering the people.
There was heavy tension in Abraka as Fulani herdsmen behead man in his farm.
Huh! The people of Delta have to wakeup before it's too late.
- "Nigeria is not working anymore, not making progress" -Atiku
- "We're ready to strike U.S air force carrier" -North Korea flex its military muscle again.
- "We totally reject the bail conditions" -Family Writers Press, tell Nigeria government as they blast Justice Binta Nyako over the conditions attached to Nnamdi Kanu's bail.
-Barely two days Nigeria minister of information and culture, lai Muhammed said Buhari will not be seen by anyone, will remain indoor till further notice, Lai said the hardship in Nigeria is coming to an end. He added that Nigeria will get out of recession next week.
Ghen! Ghennn!!... The known Lai Muhammed.
- Biafra-
After spending some years in prison; court grant bail to the leader of Indigenous people of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The bail which came with stringent conditions caused mixed reactions as many showed serious concern and condemned the conditions.
Shortly after IPOB, Family Writers, Inter-society and others condemned and rejected the bail conditions, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was released as he met the bail.
- "We are more than 10" -Biafrans who escort Nnamdi Kanu out of Kuje Prison shouts and jubilate.
Recall, one of the conditions given to Nnamdi Kanu by Justice Binta Nyako was that he must not been seen in a group of more than 10 people, else....
Owww! Sorry to Justice Binta Nyako.
- "We will continue fighting until Mmadubugu, Nwawuisi, Onwudiwe and other Biafrans are released and we must restore Biafra" -Biafrans tells the world and Nigeria government.
