FAMILY WRITERS COURT UPDATE: COURT QUASH 6 OF NIGERIA CHARGES AGAINST KANU, OTHERS, SAYS "IPOB IS NOT AN UNLAWFUL SOCIETY"
The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has struck out six of eleven count charges leveled against Nnamdi and co-defendants.
The presiding judge, Binta Nyako stated that the charges put forward by the Nigeria government against the defendants lacks merit, as the federal government has failed to produce any veritable evidence to substantiate the charges.
The judge however stated that 5 of the charges still holds and will be deliberated upon by the court.
"I have three separate applications before me, except that of the third defendants," judge Binta Nyako read in her ruling.
"The prosecution have not placed any evidence before the court, to back up the charges that
(1) IPOB is an unlawful society, though is not registered in Nigeria.
I hereby strike out, Count 3,5,7,9,10 and 11.
But, Count 1,2,4,6 and 8 stands.
IPOB does not belong to an unlawful society,
"I will also put it before the court that, the only evidence the prosecutor have provided is, the statement the defendant made while broadcasting," the judge stated.

To The Man Marked Out…
ReplyDeleteI swear you get mouth
Today you shall march forth again
Into court stronger as ever
Unrelenting, unbeaten and never to quiver
Your sufferings are not without gain
Today he shall assume the center stage
With boldness and strength
In liberation of his people from the so called bondage
At whatever peril and length
In wisdom you shall find words to speak
Of truth and nothing less
Leading the struggle to the highest peak
The greatest of love have you offered without a selfish interest
This battle to bring to an end
This war must be of victory
We must all stand up to our fundamental rights and that defend
For our triumph will be on the lips of history
Go on spread it, this war is already won
For all lost Biafrans whose blood has been shed upon
For sooner or later; the republic of Biafra will be reborn
And the streets and the inhabitants shall sing her song
See that the flag waves
Witness soon the rising of the golden sun
Have faith for with suffering comes success
Don’t lose hope for it only dies last
And in unison we will chant
All Hail Nnamdi Kanu!!!
All Hail Biafra!!!
All Hail Her Freedom Fighters!!!
