COSMOS GEORGE A 'BIAFRAN AUTHOR' HANDCUFFED FOR 31 DAYS BY DSS APPEARS IN COURT
Ibeh Gift Amarachi Reporting For Family Writers
Cosmos Otobong George a Biafran activist and author from Akwa-Ibom State who authored several Books including "LET THEM GO", was arrested by the Nigeria Security agents DSS in the Wee hour of 1:00am on Sunday the 22nd of January 2017.
The Elder Brother Nsika George and other Family members told Ibeh Gift Amarachi of Family Writers how over twenty Nigeria security agents jumped over the fence, invaded their House and forcefully abducted his Brother Cosmos George in the presence of his Wife and Two kids by 1:00am.
All efforts to reach Cosmos George was to no avail, until several investigations and petitions was made by IPOB, upon which IPOB Legal Team took it up and he was thereafter sneaked into the Court cell.
The detainee was in Court Cell for Two days, but the intervention of IPOB Legal Team forced his arraignment in Court.
In a short interview with the detainee Cosmos Otobong George in the Court cell before arraignment and in the Court room while awaiting trial, he told Family Writers correspondence Ibeh Gift Amarachi how, he was picked up and kept incommunicado for 31 days with handcuff which got rusted and resulted to severe irritating obvious injury around his wrist.
The charges against him by the DSS, are: Treasonable Felony
Conspiracy and Belonging to an unlawful society.
The defending Counsel Barrister Inalegwu Adoga, filed a bail application which was heard by the PortHarcourt Magistrate Court Rivers State.
Ruling on Cosmos Otobong George's case and other IPOB detainees will be made on 20th March 2017.
