The General Officer commanding the seventh Division in Maiduguri Borno State released 348 Boko Haram members on the 1st October, 2016 to the society and handed them over to Governor Kashim Shettima in accordance to the demands of Shekea the set leader.
Boko Haram was declared the second most deadly terrorist group in the world. They have killed so many people and many have been rendered homeless as a result of their brutalities. The north-east, where Boko Haram operates is no longer safe for anyone anymore. People live in fear due to the fact that they could strike without anyone knowing
The question here is: why arresting innocent IPOB activist and releasing bokoharam members whose atrocities are so obvious? Why should Mazi Nnamdi Kanu whom the DSS never had any evidence to prosecute and who was discharged and acquitted by both the Magistrate Court and the Federal High Court remain in detention?
This clearly indicates that the Nigerian government doesn't value human lives, does not have regard for the rule of law and does not respect fundamental human rights. The Nigerian security agents crack down and kill IPOB peaceful protesters but release terrorists, are they not being biased? This equalled indicates that some are hated while some are loved.
Today, an innocent man is still in prison for just asking for the freedom of his people. This justifies the assertion that the North and the South are like oil and water that can never mix and the United Nations confirmed it with their latest report that Nigeria is deeply divided.
For releasing Boko haram members, the DSS and President Buhari should release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all IPOB activists in their custody. What is good for the goose is equally good for the gander!
