NIGERIA : NO CHANGE SINCE INDEPENDENCE

Nigeria, celebrated her 56th anniversary as an independent nation on 1st October. Since 1960, after gaining her independence, nothing has changed. It is still same story of mental slavery, high rate of corruption, continuous pogrom and northern born to rule mentality. The country has neither moved forward nor backward; just stagnant, recycling it's leaders. Nigeria has never made any remarkable progress to compete with the western world and some other African countries like Egypt, South Africa and others.
How did such bad omen befall Nigeria? It is simply because the British colonists handed over the affairs of Nigeria to the North; who are visionless, lazy, myopic, tribalistic, and parasitic. No wonder the Northerners especially the Hausa/Fulanis would always beat their chests to claim they were born to rule. This is the reason for their thirst for power. They could kill, maim, imprison anyone, no matter whom the person may be, who is an impediment to their quest for power. They have remained in power up till now, yet there is nothing to show for it.
Nigeria is made up of 774 local governments but only the Northern part has over 500 local governments while the South shares the remaining. The worst part of it is that Biafra land shares no less than 100 local governments but sustains Nigeria with 90% contribution to the economy. The proceeds from the oil deposited in Biafra land is shared based on population, local governments and land mass bearing in mind that the Northerners are more in number in everything as they claimed. From this assertion, it becomes crystal clear that 90% of the allocation goes to the North that contributes nothing to Nigeria's economy.
Furthermore, Nigerians have never known what freedom of speech and fundamental human rights are. People live in fear, nobody trusts each other. Tribalism, religious sentiments, nepotism, greed on the side of the leaders, are deeply rooted such that one begins to wonder how the British people that created Nigeria could be this wicked. The so-called Politicians who are elected to represent the people are just there for their own selfish interest. Right from time immemorial, no politician could be rated high to offer good governance to his people.
The pogrom, committed by the Nigerian government against the Biafrans cannot be swept under the carpet. From the time of the civil war which claimed over 6million lives of Biafrans till now, nothing has changed still. The Nigerian military and police have killed no less than 2000 Biafrans especially during the period they took to the streets to protest against the illegal detention of IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who stood peacefully to demand for the freedom of his people- the Biafrans.
Again, how can a country claim to be independent yet have nothing to show for it? Nigeria has never progressed rather retrogressed. This is the reason why the Indigenous people of Biafra under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu insist that we have to go back to how we were before the colonial masters came. Our identity, Biafra, taken away as a result of amalgamation has to be restored. Nobody on this planet earth can stop the restoration of Biafra. This time, we are determined, focused and ready to actualize it.
It is either Nigeria allows Biafra to go peacefully or we die fighting for Biafra. It is Biafra or death, no two ways about that!
