NIGERIA IS NOT A NATION!

NIGERIA IS NOT A NATION!

The name 'Nigeria' was derived from two words 'Niger and area' between 1912 and 1913. Before this time, there was nothing that exist called Nigeria. What exists before that time was NORTHERN AND SOUTHERN PROTECTORATES only. Flora Shaw the wife of Fredrick Lugard coined these two words to form the name 'Nigeria' for selfish interests and potential benefits. In 1914, they both amalgamated both the northern, Western and southern protectorate together in what was later known and called 'Nigeria'.

The southern protectorate included the Ijaws, Niger Deltans, Igbos and some others. These people are Biafrans bound by a common language culture and history. The amalgamation of Biafrans to the northern protectorate to form a single entity called Nigeria was one of the worst things to have happened in the history of mankind. Even the people in question were not consulted before the amalgamation happen and since then it has been from one trouble, crisis, violence and oppression to another From the above, it adds to our basic understanding that Nigeria is not and cannot be a nation.

It is an illegal entity concocted by a white supremacy.  From time immemorial, comments by its past leaders attested to it.  In 1952, Sir Alhaji Abubarka Tafawa Balewa dismissed the amalgamation of Nigeria by the British government: "the Southern people who are swarming into this region daily in large numbers are intruders, we don't want them and they are not welcomed here in the north".

He went further to state that since the amalgamation in 1914 that the British government has been trying to make Nigeria one country but the people are different in every way including; religion, custom, language and aspirations. The fact that we are all Africans must have misguided the British government, we here in the North take it that Nigeria unity is not for us".

Based on this, several hurtful events have proven the above statement right. Biafrans have been killed in their large numbers in the north. At the slightest provocation, they are killed, slaughtered yet those who were behind this illegal union turned a blind eye. Britain pretence and silence towards the difficulties facing Nigeria has led to much bloodshed.

The 1967 civil war between Nigeria and Biafra was endorsed by Great Britain who backed Nigeria into committing a genocidal act against Biafrans that claimed the lives of over 3.5 million Biafrans. The killings haven't stopped up until this day, as thousands of Biafrans Have been killed on a daily basis in Nigeria. How can one live with people of different culture, ideology and have peace?  From Ethnic war, to religious cleansing.

Biafrans have the right to absolute freedom. No one should deny them the opportunity to exercise this right. No wonder Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, emerged to continue this same quest for freedom, to liberate his people from this contraption Lugard formed. As Biafrans march in their large numbers to agitate for freedom, innocent Biafra protesters in thousands have been killed since president Muhammadu Buhari came into power.

Also, Fulani's Herdsmen from the North have been on rampage in Biafra land, killing Biafran youths and raping Biafran women. For as long as Biafra and the north have different ideas to life, the union will not cease to sink. A nation is bound in love, peace and unity and these are farfetched among Nigerians.  It's time Britain admits to their errors and save more innocent lives and prevents another war in the foreseeable future.
