PETER OBI: THE CUNNING POLITICAL MARAUDER IN THE EAST.

PETER OBI: THE CUNNING POLITICAL MARAUDER IN THE EAST.

Peter Obi

Ex-governor Peter Obi of Anambra state for sure will be remembered for his many feats as a governor and to him it includes the killing of Biafrans and throwing them into Ezu Rivers. At the 17th Anniversary of the Igbo Youth Movement (IYM), where the leader of IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was honored with the "award of truth", my colleagues Ifeanyi Chijioke and Chukwuemeka Nduka were amazed by the shabby dressing of Peter Obi to the occasion. They were particularly sarcastical about his shoes and called him stingy. I in particular, saw a cunning man who could not answer a simple question posed to him by my colleague Ifeanyi Chijioke who had simply asked him thus " Sir, what have you to say about the continuous shedding of blood of innocent Biafrans since you left office?" Peter Obi was taken aback and the press chat came to an abrupt end. He casually clung his arms across my colleague, beckoning him forward and whispering while I pressed on them closely beside. He wanted to know where we were from and when told, he insisted that Evangelist Elliot, the founder of IYM will answer the question. Peter Obi cunningly dodged the question with the incident of Ezu Rivers at the back of his mind, he has refused to release the autopsy report of Biafrans who were killed by SARS Awkwuzu, and later thrown into the Ezu Rivers.

A recent news publication has described an incident that occurred in an occasion organized by a former minister. According to the news report, former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi had uninvitedly grabbed the microphone, walked to the stage and began to lambaste Nnamdi Kanu, calling him a criminal that has come to distract the administration of Buhari. He was booed by the guests and the microphone forcibly taken off from him. His speech aggravated most of the guests including ex-vice president Alex Ekwueme and his wife, they almost walked out of the occasions but were pacified by some guests including Peter Obi who was apologizing profusely. I cannot confirm the authenticity of this report, neither has Peter Obi denied the incident. Nevertheless, I wish to state it will be hypocritical for Peter Obi to condemn Nnamdi Kanu after applauding and eulogizing activist, Mrs Ankio Briggs, who has called for the immediate release of Nnamdi Kanu. At the anniversary of IYM, Peter Obi should have shown his bravery by speaking against the award given to Nnamdi Kanu, when he had the stage. Maybe he was cowed by the presence of personalities like ex-governor. Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Chief (Mrs) Marie Nwanyiwunwa Okwo, Prof. Jerry Gana and others, or just maybe the euphoria that greeted the mention of Nnamdi Kanu was too huge for him to fathom.

There is also a report that Peter Obi is planning the death of Nnamdi Kanu who is incarcerated in Kuje Prisons, which must not be allowed to happen to avoid an unending crisis that will envelope the country. Peter Obi is desperate to be seen as the leader of Igbo ethnic group which he is allowed to dream but he should be aware that Nnamdi Kanu leads the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and not an igbo cultural group. I urge Peter Obi to go back to the football field he had a conversation with about 100 youths and ask them to choose between him and Nnamdi Kanu, the result there will surely give him an insight on those Nnamdi Kanu leads. Peter Obi must not allow his personal and selfish ambition to becloud his sense of reasoning. He has spoken in support of true federalism and also about the unity of the south-east and south-south, what was he thinking when he decided to criminalize Nnamdi Kanu? I wonder! Investigation is still ongoing to authenticate the Intel received that it was Peter Obi who alerted the DSS with false information that lead to the arrest of Chief Victor Umeh. Peter Obi has left APGA for PDP after he swore to the founding fathers he will never leave for another party. Peter Obi's political relevance in the east is murky and it shall be tested soon if he foolishly decides to run for the senatorial seat in Anambra state even as he keeps marauding all across Biafraland seeking relevancy.
