The Fulani Herdsmen, in other to celebrate the swearing-in of Muhammadu Buhari as President of Nigeria, decided to take a walk on busy expressways in Abuja, obstructing free flow of vehicles, frightening motorists and causing a traffic deadlock. This act has continued unabated and has spread to other cities without any Nigeria security agency concerned about it. It should be noted that President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria, is the Life Patron of the Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria which is the umbrella organisation of the Fulani Herdsmen and Fulani Militia.
A current report by the Global Terror Watch Index (GTWI) has described the "Fulani Herdsmen" as the deadliest known terrorist group and warned attacks attributed to them were on the rise in Nigeria. In 2014 alone, according to GTWI, it killed at least 1,229 unarmed citizens and in seven months of 2015 (January-July), it killed 631 unarmed civilians and between June 2015 and April 2016, it has killed over 900 unarmed civilians. Recently the Fulani militia massacred over 300 rural Christians in Agatu area of Benue State. The Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to Nigeria and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), Mrs. Angele Dikongue Atangana has stated that the level of killings and destruction perpetrated in Agatu local government by herdsmen is the worst in history. She stated thus: "In my 20 years of working as a humanitarian, I have never seen such a level of destruction. If steps are not taken, the crises can affect the country as a whole,”
She noted that the atrocities caused by the herders was similar to that been perpetrated by BokoHaram Islamic militants in the North-east of Nigeria. In Owa community in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State,a Catholic priest, was kidnapped by Fulani herdsmen and later found dead. There is heavy tension in Umudium village in Umumbo community, Ayamelum Local Government Area and Uwuanyi Autonomous Community, Isuikwuato Local Government Area. The traditional rulers of both communities, Igwe Simeon Chidubem and HRH Eze Uwadiegwu Ogonnaya respectively, have maintained that there is no day a case of attack, molestation of underage children, men, women and sexual abuse by the Fulani herdsmen is not reported in their various kingdoms. The invasion of Fulani Herdsmen into most rural communities in Biafraland is on the increase.
Senator Zainab Kure, wife of a two-time Governor of Niger State, who is the current Senate Committee Chairman on Marine Transport, sponsored the National Grazing Commission Bill. It should be noted that she sponsored this same Bill in 2008 during the 6th National Assembly but it received a hostile reception. In 2016, the same bill has been resurrected, passed through second reading and is on a smooth sail into becoming a law. The National Grazing Commission Bill seeks for the establishment of the National Grazing Reserve Commission of Nigeria, a corporate body whose head shall be appointed by the President, with the mandate to compulsorily acquire large portions of lands from natives in any part of Nigeria for the benefit of Fulani herdsmen. Non-compliance to the commission shall be punishable by a fine of N50,000 or 5 years imprisonment or both. No Court of law shall carry out execution of its judgment or attachment of court process issued against the Commission in any action or suit without obtaining the prior consent of the Attorney General of the Federation. The commission is above the Nigeria courts and answerable to the Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources. When passed into law, the Act shall be cited as The National Grazing Reserve Commission (Establishment and Development) Bill 2008.
On the 13th of October 2000, without prior notice, General Muhammadu Buhari led the Arewa team comprising of former governor of Lagos State, General Buba Marwa, Alhaji Aliko Muhammed, Alhaji Abdulrazak and Alhaji Hassan to confront the then governor of Oyo State, Lam Adesina, over alleged killings of Fulani cattle rearers in Saki, Oke Ogun Area of the state. The Fulani Terror Group is now a militia arm of the Buhari administration. The Fulani herdsmen as seen by ordinary Nigerians on daily basis with their herds of cattle do not, by themselves, usually carry out the killing, massacring and abduction of their innocent preys, but they provide basic intelligence, surveillance coverage and bases for their military wing to unleash their mayhem on unarmed and innocent citizens. As they take their herds of cattle into the rain forests and southern communities, they identify their potential preys, encircle them and notify their military wing through well established and coordinated communication modes.
This basic intelligence, identification of their potential preys and bases are mostly done in the daytime, while armory and personnel movements and attacks are mostly carried out at night and at hours of the blue law. "Hit and retreat" is their mode of attacks and their weaponry and movements are clearly and tactically mapped out and made highly secretive. The Fulani Herdsmen are well protected by their kinsmen in the armed forces of Nigeria. Buhari has maintained silence on the victims of the various Fulani Herdsmen attacks but he is berating the creek freedom fighters and threatening to exterminate them. Nigeria's minister of Internal Affairs, retired Lt. General Abdulrahman Dambazau, has boldly defended the Fulani Herdsmen and blamed Social Media users for exacerbating the attacks.
Muhammadu Buhari is working in progress to redeem his pledge to Allah to propagate Jihad and he is using the Fulani Herdsmen as a standing army. The Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB) is aware and will never give out any part of their ancestral land to the Fulani Herdsmen to plunder and claim ownership. I advise members of The National Assembly to seek counsel from Argentina or Australia and get enlightenment on modern ranching, instead of promoting the ravaging and destruction of farmlands and innocent human lives.
