OPEN LETTER TO UN SECRETARY GENERAL BAN KI-MOON ON HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

The World's Human Rights Day is observed every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day on which, in 1945, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The theme for Human Rights Day 2015 is " Our Rights, Our Freedom. Always."; the year-long campaign is focused on - FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF WORSHIP, FREEDOM FROM WANT AND FREEDOM FROM FEAR- which underpin the International Bill of Human Right are as relevant today as they were when the covenants were adopted 50 years ago.
To buttress the importance of the campaign, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon stated: "On Human Rights Day,let us recommit to guaranteeing the fundamental freedom and protecting the human right of all". I wonder if Ban Ki-Moon is not aware of the atrocities been perpetrated on Biafrans on peaceful demonstrations in Biafraland or is he not aware that Biafrans in Diaspora have registered their grievances in most of the United Nations offices overseas.
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu are exercising their rights to self-determination through peaceful efforts and have never engaged in any violent acts or mayhem in demanding for their rights. Evidence abound that Biafrans under the banner of IPOB are been killed, injured and detained by the Nigeria Police and Army led by Solomon Arase and Major General Tukur Burutai respectively. It is on record that these men have publicly boasted on tough measures been dealt on peaceful demonstrators and the persecution of Biafrans arrested while protesting for "treason".
The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu was kidnapped on October 18th 2015 and is been tortured by the head of Nigeria secret service,Musa Daura. The Nigeria secret service in accordance with the directives of President Muhammad Buhari have refused to obey three court orders from the Wuse Magistrate Court,Abuja where Nnamdi Kanu was hurriedly arraigned for illegally entering Nigeria, conspiracy to incite violence and leading an illegitimate group. He is still been detained till date even when bail conditions have been fulfilled by his defence team. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights of Freedom of speech, Freedom of worship, Freedom from wants and Freedom from fear for the Indigenous People of Biafra is been abused by Muhammad Buhari and his Islamic Police and Military.
I urge Ban Ki-Moon and other peace loving members of the United Nations General Assembly to learn the ways of Elliot Tom (of Fermanagh and South Tyrone constituency) and Kinahan Danny(of South Antrim constituency) of the House of Commons, UK;they have raised a motion for the release of Nnamdi Kanu and a referendum for the independence of Biafra.
Great Biafrans, let us continue to show the world that we are peaceful and reasonable people, continue to tweet and tell the world the truth. Follow @EmekaGift, @Amaka_Ekwo,@ceebee1313,@nnamdikanu1,@mefonna,@cliffiroanya,@ChikaMaduO,@radiobiafralive,@biafradefender, etc
