It is very unlikely that there are tribes, people, nation, culture or group whose origin and existence is never known to anyone else. Biafra land has genuine origin and her people happily existing, peacefully accommodating asylum seekers, hardworking and prosperous before the invasion of British colonial masters and subsequent amalgamation of Biafra,Arewa, and Oduduwa nations in 1914 by Fredrick Lugard.

This years United Nations world conference on Indigenous people opened another floor for Biafra and other indigenous people to reaffirm the UN declaration and commitment to the concrete outcome of documents from the plenary session. IPOB with high powered delegation asserted that the human rights of the indigenous people of Biafra has been trampled upon in Nigeria and wondered why the world is keeping silent.  Mazi Ikenna Nwanonenyi explained that "United Nation criteria for identification of indigenous people includes traditional lifestyle, culture and way of life different from other segment of the  national population,  Biafra has well define social organization, political institution and historical continuity" The effort to restore Biafra is to safeguard our people, institution, properties, environment and culture of our people.

IPOB delegates regretted the incessant killings, kidnapping, arrests and incarceration of IPOB members in Nigeria. Mazi Ikenna Nwanonenyi said  United Nations should as matter of urgency implement the outcome of that plenary session that attracted special award to delegates; the indigenous people of Alsaka, Zapatico,Terasco,Native America,Columbiano,Peru,Irag,Mexico,Chaldeans, chopas,,Mayans and very especially the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB)
